The Downtown Aquarium made my list simply because it is downtown and has a certain novelty to it. The brainchild of Landry's Restaurant empire owner Tilman Fertitta, The Aquarium is a $38 million development and features dining and amusements surrounding a half million gallon marine environment. It is impressive. There are two dining rooms and a nice bar space, but also a permanent carnival complete with ferris wheel, a train that takes you through a special shark exhibit, and a self guided tour through wildlife exhibits highlighted by several white tigers. If you're looking for all the spectacle you've found it here, and, oh yeah, they serve food.
